Trinity Baptist to celebrate Homecoming, pastor appreciation

On Sunday, Oct. 2, Trinity Baptist Church will observe Homecoming.

They will also celebrate Pastor Appreciation Day. Rev. Rommie Martin and his wife, Frances, have served their Lord at Trinity Baptist for the past 25 years.

Before coming to Trinity, Rommie served as interim pastor of St. John's Baptist Church. The members were real faithful to their church during the time they were without a full-time pastor. They encouraged Rommie to follow God's call for the ministry of our Lord.

Rommie was ordained to the Gospel Ministry on September 26, 1986 at Reedy Branch Baptist Church, Barnwell. Before coming to Trinity Baptist Church, he served as pastor at Springtown Baptist Church and Memorial Baptist Church in Olar.

Rommie and Frances began their ministry at Trinity Baptist Church in October of 1991. The ministry of Trinity Baptist Church began with 30 members. Its present membership is about 150 members. Since our pastor has been at Trinity, he has had the wonderful blessing of baptizing over 250 new converts that came to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Under our pastor's leadership, we built a softball field, new fellowship hall, purchased new piano, new organ, and the Lord has blessed us with a new sanctuary that will seat about 300. We have ordained several men to the Deacon Ministry and one to the Gospel Ministry.

We have a full Gospel Ministry with Brotherhood, WMU, Children's Ministry, Recreation Program. Home Bible Study and Outreach Ministry. All are welcome at Trinity Baptist. We have a loving church family. God has blessed and is still blessing at Trinity Baptist.

We look forward to worship October 2 and to having a great day for God's Glory. We invite all former members and friends to share this great day with us!

Special guests will include our pastor's class members of 1957, Blackville High School. Rev. Dean Hightower of La Grange, N.C., a graduate of the Class of '57, will be the guest speaker. Special music will be provided by Eddie and Cindy Bessinger, and Keith Croft. After the worship service, we invite you to enjoy food and Christian fellowship.
