Williams, Brown to wed

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kent Williams of Blackville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Abbie Sandel, to John William Brown. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis W. Brown Jr. of Alcolu.

The bride-elect of Lexington is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jaby D. (Bill) Sandel of Orangeburg and the late Henry S. Williams Sr., Abbie Jean Bodiford Flowers and H.T. “Tommy” Flowers Sr., all of Blackville. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina in Columbia and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She is currently employed as a pharmacy manager with Walgreens in Lexington.

The bridegroom-elect of Alcolu is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Patanode and the late Mr. Lewis Wade Brown Sr., all of Alcolu; Jim and Agnus Nettles of Sumter; and the late Mr. Velbert Gamble Coker of Sumter. He attended Tri-County Technical College and is self-employed with J.W. Brown Construction, LLC. of Alcolu.

The couple plans a wedding for April 22, 2017 in Columbia. Formal invitations will be sent.
