Anniversary Services

St. Peter Baptist Church will celebrate its 150th Church Anniversary May 3-5 at 7 p.m. and May 7 at 11 a.m. Speakers are: Rev. Willie James, First Shiloh Baptist Church on Wednesday night, Rev. Johnnie Lee Smith, Rosa Hill Baptist on Thursday night, Rev. Sanka Davis, Rome Baptist on Friday, and Rev. Asia Ferguson, Oakey Spring Baptist on Sunday.

Silver Spring Missionary Baptist Church (347 Woodrow Doby Road, Williston) will have their 12th Deaconess Board Anniversary Program on Sunday, May 7 beginning at 10 a.m. with Sunday school.

Culbert Branch Missionary Baptist in Williston will celebrate their pastor’s sixth appreciation worship service on Sunday, May 7 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Douglas A. Slaughter, pastor of Second Baptist in Aiken, as guest preacher. This will be a casual event, so wear blue jeans and a white top. Dinner will follow.

Runs Missionary Baptist Church, 717 Williston Rd., Beech Island, will hold their 146th Church Anniversary on Sunday, May 7 at 8 a.m. Elder Reginald S. Hinton Jr. of Raleigh, N.C. will be the guest minister.

The Senior Gospel Choir of Capernaum Missionary Baptist Church of Denmark will celebrate their 150th Choir Anniversary on Sunday, May 7 at 2:30 p.m.

Silver Spring Missionary Baptist Church (347 Woodrow Doby Road, Williston) will have their 70th Usher Board Anniversary Program on Sunday, May 21 beginning at 10 a.m. with Sunday school.

Thankful Grove Baptist Young Adult Choir (1810 Old Barnwell Road, Williston) will celebrate their 15th Choir Anniversary on Sunday, May 21 at 3 p.m.

St. Peter Male Chorus Anniversary Sunday will be Sunday, May 21 at 3 p.m. at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church (Hwy. 37, Elko).

Ned Branch Missionary Baptist Church Male Chorus will celebrate their 4th anniversary on Saturday, May 27 at 3 p.m. at the church (187 Ned Branch Ave., Barnwell).

Special Services

Trinity Outreach Ministries will hold a Fresh Fire 1st Sunday Service on May 7 at 3 p.m. at the Trinity Vision Center (47 Allen Street, Barnwell).

The Willing Workers of St. Mary Baptist Church (474 Hwy. 125, Martin) will present 100 Men in Black and 100 Women in White program on May 7 at 3 p.m. Rev. Curtis Blocker, pastor of St. John Baptist in Langley, will be the guest speaker. For more info, call (803) 584-4254.

Women’s Events

Jordan Baptist Church (2141 Jordan Road, Barnwell) will hold a women’s conference called “A Woman’s Worth” on May 5-6. Guest speakers are: Rev. Audrey Boozer from Greenwood, Elder DeBorah Jamison from Kingdom Life Ministries in Orangeburg, Miss S.C. State University London Knight and Honorable Del-Gratia Jones from the S.C. State Board of Education. A ladies luncheon will be held on May 6.

Jordan Missionary Baptist Church, Williston, will hold the annual Women’s Brunch on May 6 at 11 a.m. Rev. Regina Herrin, associate minister of Reedy Branch Baptist Church, Ward, will be guest speaker.

Macedonia Baptist Church (3572 Dexter Street, Blackville) will have their annual Woman’s Day Program on Sunday, May 21 at 11 a.m. Speaker will be Dr. Stacey Lee, daughter of the house at Beulah Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Augusta, Ga.

Mother’s Day Celebrations

Thankful Grove Missionary Baptist (1810 Old Barnwell Road, Williston) will celebrate their Annual Mother’s Day Program on Sunday, May 14 beginning with Sunday school at 10 a.m. and worship services at 11 a.m.

Revival Services

Brown Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Hwy. 70, Barnwell, will have its Annual Spring Revival May 9 -11 at 7 p.m. nightly. Revivalists for the three nights will be Rev. Evert Comer, pastor of Springtown Missionary Baptist of Denmark, Rev. Sarah Perkins, pastor of Rosemary Baptist Church, Barnwell, and Rev. Tommy Doe, pastor of St. John Holiness Church, Allendale.

Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church (5032 Fellowship Road, Williston) will hold their annual youth revival beginning Tuesday, May 16 and continuing through Thursday, May 18 at 7 p.m. nightly. Speakers will be: Rev. Warren Murdock on Tuesday, Rev. Joseph Williams on Wednesday and Rev. Allen Keitt on Thursday.

Gospel Celebration

Daughters of the King will present A Gospel Celebration on Saturday, May 20 at 4 p.m. at Born Again Church (14391 Church Street, Williston). It will feature New Five Gospel of Springfield, The Anointed Mims Singers of North Carolina, The Colleton Spiritulaires of Charleston, New Gospel Tones of Elko, Charles Mobley & Chosen Vessels, Willie Lewis & The Lady Gospel Angel of Hopkins, The Silvernetts of Bishopville, Sisters in Christ of Lugoff and Bright Stars of Augusta, Ga.
