Williston First Baptist Church is hosting their annual "Fall Festival" Oct. 30 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. There will be trunk or treat for children ages 11 and under, cake walk, chili cookoff, games and prizes, music, food and fellowship. Don't miss out on this community event.
Winfield Heights Baptist Church in Williston will host its 9th Annual Fall Festival on Halloween Night, Oct. 31, from 6-8:30 p.m. There will be food, games, inflatables, hay ride, prizes, and of course Trunk-or-Treat.
Double Pond Baptist Church will host a Family Fun Festival Saturday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. until noon on the athletic field next to the church located at 357 Double Pond Road in Blackville. For more information please call Pastor Tim Edmonds at 793-3498.
St. John Baptist Church (Boiling Springs Community) will have a program for the 99th anniversary of the St. John Benevolent Society Nov. 2 at noon. Rev. Isaac Carter of Winston-Salem, N.C., will give the anniversary message.
The A.R. Ruth Singers will celebrate their 14th choir anniversary Saturday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. at Mt. Hope Baptist Church. All groups and choirs are invited, and the sign-in method will be used. Rev. A.R. Ruth is pastor.
Blackville Church of God will have its Homecoming Nov. 3 at the Fellowship Hall on Solomon Blatt Ave. Dinner will be served and there will singing. Performance by the "Nealy's" is at 2 p.m.
New Hope United Methodist Church (Allendale) will have its 50th choir anniversary Nov. 3 at 3 p.m.
Bethel Baptist Church (near Sycamore) will hold its annual fall revival Sunday, Nov. 3 thru Wednesday, Nov. 6. Services will be at 11 am Nov. 3 and nightly Nov. 3 - Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. Rev. Dr. Mark Riser, pastor of Matlock Baptist Church in Jackson, will be the guest speaker at each service. Special music for the week will be rendered by Joe and Kim Stanley of Fayetteville, Ga. Rev. Brian R. Henderson is pastor at Bethel.
Allens Chapel Baptist Church will have its homecoming Nov. 3. Services start at 11 a.m. Annual revival will be Nov. 4 thru 6 at 7 p.m. each night. Guest speaker is Rev. Ted Still.
Ned Branch Missionary Baptist Church will have a Praise Night Service on Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. Reginald Mixon Sr. of Bethany Baptist Church in Blackville. Come and help us lift up the name of Jesus, while we give him all the honor and praise.
Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church (Fellowship Road, Williston) will have its fall revival Nov. 5 thru 7 at 7 p.m. each night. Rev. Anthony Mansfield will be the guest revivalist Tuesday, Rev. James Holiday Wednesday and Rev. Allen Keitt Thursday.
Barnwell First Baptist Church is holding their 2nd annual Bazaar and Auction on Saturday, Nov. 9, in their activity center. The yard sale starts at 7 a.m. with the auction beginning at noon. There will be antiques, collectibles, tools, appliances, art and more. Proceeds benefit the church's key missions and goals. Refreshments will be available. Great Cypress Baptist Church (Hwy. 37) will have its 38th annual Harvest Day program Nov. 10 with Sunday School at 9 a.m. Guest speaker is Evangelist Edna Fitts.
Blackville First Baptsit Church (19449 Solomon Blatt Ave.) will be celebrating Homecoming on Sunday, Nov. 10. Dr. Lewis McCormick will be the guest speaker and Kristie Elkins Hutson will render special music. Morning Worship will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a delicious catered meal.
Bethel Baptist Church (near Sycamore) will hold its annual homecoming on Sunday, Nov. 10. Services begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Creason, pastor of Nixville Baptist Church near Estill, as guest speaker. A barbeque and covered dish dinner will follow the service. All members, former members, and friends are invited to these services.
Greater Sweet Branch Baptist Church will hold a Hallelujah Sunday on Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. Rev. Benjamin Cave is the pastor and Rev. Gregory Young will be the guest speaker.
Ned Branch Missionary Baptist Church will have a Praise Night Service on Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Rev. John W. Young of St. Thomas Grove Baptist Church and St. Paul Baptist Church in Barnwell.
The Greater Sweet Branch Baptist Church Women's Ministry and Program/Planning Committee will be traveling to Orlando, Fla., on March 21 - March 23, 2014, to visit the Holy Land. The total cost per person is $300. This price includes hotel, and transportation/admission to the Holy Land. The Holiday season is quickly approaching; therefore, participants of the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program, Better Choices Better Health are planning a "Get-together Reunion" on Monday, Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Blackville Community Center. All former participants throughout Barnwell County are invited to come and re-visit and up-date your action plans. Any person/s interested in learning more about the program may also attend. A special invitation is extended to all Veterans in an effort to recognize and celebrate their contributions to our Country. Please bring your clean and gently used coats and jackets to Church on Sunday for the Community Coat Drive that will take place on Nov. 9 at Fuller Park in Barnwell from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. All sizes are needed. Donations can be made during Sunday morning worship services, weekly Bible Study, or during weekly Prayer Services at any of the participating churches which are as follows: Jordan Baptist Church, Morris Chapel Baptist Church, Ned Branch Baptist Church, Rosemary Baptist Church, and Second Baptist Church.
