Seeking the Christ

Many have asked, "Who is the Son of Man?"
As we approach Easter, I believe this is a great question that must be answered if one is to understand the love of God. We learned early in life that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
This question is so important because it is the key to everlasting life. Jesus once told His disciples that if He was lifted up from the earth, He would draw all peoples to Himself. Jesus was crucified upon the cross; He was lifted up in order that all our sins could be forgiven. Jesus is the Christ the Son of Man that became the only sacrifice that God will accept for the forgiveness of sin.
Today, we celebrate the Easter season in remembrance of what God has done for us by allowing His Son to pay the price for our sin. Although two thousand years have passed since the Son of Man was lifted up from the earth upon a cross, people today are still seeking the Christ.
On your journey through life I hope you too will seek the Christ and find hope for tomorrow during this Easter season.
Mark Watford is the pastor of Seven Pines Baptist Church in Snelling.
