South Carolina State University’s Executive Speaker Series will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at noon in Belcher Hall’s fourth floor auditorium.
Opening the dynamic business series for the 2012 spring semester is alumnus Clarence Kegler, ‘70, vice president and chief diversity officer of Michelin North America, Inc.
Kegler will address students during the general session, presenting on the topic: “Breaking the Code - The Elusive Code of How to be Successful in Corporate America.”
Prior to being named vice president and chief diversity officer, Kegler served as plant manager for Michelin North America’s passenger car and light truck tire manufacturing facility in Greenville, S.C. His previous work experience with the company also included as a plant manager for the aircraft tire manufacturing facility in Norwood, N.C. Before joining Michelin, Kegler had a 30-year career with Hoechst-Celanese Corporation, excelling in various management positions.
Active in the community, Kegler has served on the boards for the United Way, Habitat for Humanity and Rock Hill School District 3. He has also served on the South Carolina State University Advisory Board. A native of Orlando, Fla., Kegler earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from SC State University and his Master of Business Administration degree from Atlanta University.
