Staff Sgt. Douglas B. Duncan was awarded the Bronze Star by the Army in January.
Duncan, 31, is with the 5th Special Forces Group, Airborne from Fort Campbell, Ky.
Duncan was awarded the Bronze Star for his work as a company supply sergeant. Duncan, while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom from January to July 2009, handled the supply and support logistics of two bases and nine detachments, which involved the accountability of material and equipment for these units.
Duncan is a 1997 graduate from Williston-Elko High School and has been in the Army for 14 years.
Duncan is the son of Kathy Beasley of Barnwell and Mike Duncan of Texas. He is now serving in Baghdad, Iraq on his fifth tour of duty.
