Bilaysia Tamar Deloach - Birthday


Bilaysia Tamar Deloach celebrated her ninth birthday on July 4, 2010. She is the daughter of Bill and Shaneka DeLoach.
Bilaysia has three siblings.
Grandparents are Margaret Ann Gadsden, the late Arthur “Charlie” Joyner Jr., and Lula Mae DeLoach and the late David DeLoach.
Great-grandparents are Margaret “Mae” Gadsden and Harold Gadsden.
Godmother is Teresa Ashmore of Blackville.

Lions Club's new officers

The Barnwell County Lions Club installed its officers for the 2010-11 year July 12. The leadership for the local Lions Club includes, from left, Jay Hair (Tail Twister); Bob Weis (Lion Tamer); Bill Douglas, Holly Rimes, D.J. Haley Padgett - Birthday


Haley Padgett celebrated her fifth birthday on June 30. 2010. She is the daughter of Lloyd Padgett and Amanda Cave of Barnwell.
Haley has one brother, Christian Padgett and two god brothers, Trevion Rhodes and Damahji Devoe of Barnwell.
Grandparents are Elizabeth  Padgett and the late Lucky Padgett of Blackville and William and Rosa Cave of Kline.
God parents are Latasha Sanders and Antonio Devoe of Barnwell.

X’Zavier Germonta Lee - Birthday


X’Zavier Germonta Lee celebrated his sixth birthday on July 18, 2010. He is the son of William “Pop” and Shawn Lee of Fairfax.
X’Zavier has one brother, William Lee Jr. of Barnwell.
Grandparents are Verma Mae Washington and the late Mack Brown of Fairfax and Nell Walker and Sandy Williams of Blakville.

Braylen E’Niyah Jones


Braylen E’Niyah Jones celebrated her fifth birthday on July 12, 2010. She is the daughter of Dedrick X. Carter and Benita K. Jones of Barnwell.
Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Tom Carter Jr. and the late Doris B. Kearse, all of Allendale and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jones of Martin.
Great-grandparents are Ruth M. Barker and Jessie O’Neal , both of Allendale.

Mattilyn Alexis Bell - Birthday


Mattilyn Alexis Bell celebrated her first birthday on May 27, 2010. She is the daughter of Matthew and Jennifer Bell of Williston.
Mattilyn has one sister, Kylie Mattison Bell.
Grandparents are Chuck and Dianne Bell of Longbranch and David and Kim Dandridge of Williston.

Garrett Carson Byrum - Birth


Patrick and Crystal Byrum of Roswell, Ga. are proud to announce the birth of their son, Garrett Carson Byrum.  He was born at 8:57 p.m. on May 27, 2010 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Ga.  He weighed ten pounds, six ounces and was 21 1/4 inches long.
Paternal grandparents are Pat and Faye Byrum of Cleveland, Tenn.
Maternalgrandparents are Johnny and Phyllis Martin of Barnwell.
Great Grandparents are Robert Carson, Sr. of Williston and the late Gloria Carson and the late Frankie and Margueritte Martin of Blackville.

Colton Franklin Hair - Birth


Phil and Lynn Hair are proud to announce the birth of their son, Colton Franklin Hair. He was born at 1:54 p.m., June 3, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. He weighed five pounds, 15 ounces and was 18 ½ inches long.
Colton has one brother, Jacob Richmond Hair.
Paternal grandparents are Frankie and JoAnn Hair of Blackville.
Maternal grandparents are the late Richmond and Kathryn Cheek of Barnwell.

YNC(SW) Sanders - Retires

YNC(SW) Sanders was born in Blackville, South Carolina and graduated from Williston-Elko High School in 1986.  He enlisted into the U.S. Navy in July 1986 and completed Recruit Training at RTC Orlando, Florida in September.
After completing Yeoman “A” School, Meridian, Mississippi, he reported to USS Hawes (FFG-53) home ported in Charleston where he advanced to Third Class Petty Officer.  He completed two MED and Operation Desert Shield deployments while onboard USS Hawes.
