Alsept honored by senior drama students

The seniors of Williston-Elko High School's drama program presented director Linda Alsept flowers for her leadership and work in the program following the Feb. 9 performance of "Oklahoma."
Alsept called her students a "talented" group and thanked everyone for their dedication.
While most students will return next year, several will graduate this year. "It is always sad to see the seniors go," said Alsept. "When I first started the drama program years ago I always used to wonder if the future performances would be as good because of the shift in acting groups."
Her doubt is no more as Alsept has seen the talent in the underclassmen the past eight years. "That is where I see the future vision of the drama program and I can confidently say we have several more years of surprises for the audiences yet," she said.
Alsept credits the leadership skills her students gain not only from her, but from each other, as the key to their success. "I try hard to develop those drama skills early in underclassmen and as they mature they pass their knowledge to the younger ones," said Alsept.
