Senior Raven Cooler has been identified as a finalist in the National Achievement Scholarship Program. As a finalist, Raven will be in competition with other students nationwide to become an Achievement Scholar, a designation earned by only 800 students. The announcement of Achievement Scholars will be made in April.
Juniors Gillie Smith and Jeneka Williams have been selected as Barnwell High's delegates for the 2013 Palmetto Girls State. Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, Girls State provides the young ladies with a first-hand look at local and state government during the week-long event held on the campus of Presbyterian College in June. Junior Jhordan Jenkins is the alternate.

The JROTC Military Ball took place at Fort Gordon on Saturday, Feb. 2.
A student-faculty basketball game was held for the student body on Monday, Feb. 4.
The Warhorse Café, located in room 603, continues to be open before school on all "A" day mornings.
Course selection for 2013-14 is continuing. Parents, make certain that you have made an appointment with your child's guidance counselor.
The annual Miss Barnwell High School Pageant will be held at 6 p.m. at the Barnwell Primary School Auditorium on Saturday, March 23.
The Junior-Senior Prom is scheduled for Thursday, March 28. Tickets are currently on sale at the price of $35 for a single ticket and $65 for a couple.
