Conference unites mothers, daughters

The Macedonia Elementary School Guidance Department celebrated the relationship between mothers and daughters with their 4th Annual Mother and Daughter Conference Feb. 22. It was themed "Shine Bright Like a Diamond".
Guest speaker Dorothy Priester, a fifth grade ELA educator at MES, highlighted the evening by speaking on self-esteem. The mothers and daughters also played trivia games, minute to win-it, and had a breast cancer awareness dialog given by Yojuana Lawson, also a fifth grade science and social studies educator at MES. Prizes were given to all student participants. Dinner was served and the night ended with photo sessions and a fashion show.
The event was sponsored by MES faculty, staff and community members. Brenda C. Hughes is the guidance counselor and assistant principal.
