That’s not a cat in that hat - It's a Lemon

Barnwell Primary was one of several local schools to celebrate Dr. Seuss birthday March 1.
Wearing the red and white striped Cat in the Hat hat, several school and community readers, including Barnwell Mayor Ed Lemon (at left) visited daily all week to share their favorite book with kindergartners. Students also celebrated a different Dr. Seuss book each day with activities for reading and math centered around the books. Many also dressed up as Dr. Seuss characters, including Gracie Bates (at right).
"Dr. Seuss books are so important for young ones to foster the joy and fun of reading," said Heather Chambers, a kindergarten teacher at BPS.
