GBMS gets dramatic

The Guinyard-Butler Middle School Drama Club presented its premiere program, "Just Another Middle School Musical," Feb. 19.
The club, which consists of ten eighth graders and five seventh graders, began rehearsing back in October during the students' two breaks and after school two or three afternoons a week to learn the music, choreography, and dialogue for the production.
Along with the Drama Club's sponsor Michael Pisacreta, there were many teachers and staff members who helped the students along the way including: Senaca Baines, Mandy Pender, Garnette Alexander, Tammy Briggs, Rachel Mayfield, Linda Bailey, Melanie Corell, Heidi Lewis, Jennie Lemon and Ashlee Lemon. Mrs. A. Lemon, GBMS' Art Teacher, was also responsible for creating all of the backdrops and the sign that was placed on the front of the stage.
The performance itself was a wonderful experience for the students involved by helping to boost their confidence and by giving each an outlet to share their talents in a new and different way. The audience's reactions were exactly what the actors needed to raise their performance to another level by laughing at every little joke and becoming involved in the story they were telling.
The Drama Club thanks all the faculty, staff, and community members who came out to the show and invites everyone to their next production at the end of May.
