TSA team places at state meeting

Barnwell High School's Technology Student Association and several of its students placed in the recent South Carolina TSA State Conference.
BHS placed third overall in the March 9 conference at Airport High School. The team consisted of: Lance Kinard, Bae McKinney, Stacy Jones, Nicholas Palm, Chris Cox, Kendrick Backmon, Emmet Black, Ben Andrews, Ashley Miller, Maheedhar Mandapati, Joanna John, Chris Stanley, Benjamin Gardner, Ashley Simmons, Allen Sanamandra, and Russell Burckhalter.
In addition to the team's overall win, several students placed as well.
First places winners were Lance Kinard (CAD Engineering 2D), Maheedhar Mandapati and Allen Sanamandra (Webmaster), Nicholas Palm and Chris Cox (Technology Problem-Solving), and Kendrick Backmon (Prepared Presentation).
Kendrick Backmon also placed second (CAD Engineering 2D), while Stacy Jones (Flight Endurance) and Emmet Black (CAD Engineering 3D) placed third.
BHS industrial technology instructor Steve Andrews congratulates all students for their participation.
BHS has had a TSA chapter since 2001. It provides students with competitive events to will enhance their technological abilities along with other capabilities in academic content areas of study.
