The South Carolina Alliance of Black School Educators held its 17th Annual Winter Conference in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A performing ensemble from Blackville-Hilda High School was asked to entertain the guests during a luncheon that took place on Saturday, Jan. 14.
For the past two weeks, several members of the illustrious Carolina Cavaliers prepared to take on the task at hand. With the help of Mr. Tim Hinton, the former Director of Bands of the Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School, the Carolina Cavaliers transformed themselves in the Blackville-Hilda Concert Band!
The ensemble performed well under the pressure of such a prestigious event. This is the first year that Blackville has performed at the SCABSE conference as an instrumental ensemble.
