Barnwell Primary students go country

Lights, camera, action! This week the third grade classes studied plays as a form of writing and literature. While studying how to read and write a play, the students also performed a play for their parents and fellow classmates. Each third grade class performed the play “Two Pigs, a Wolf, and a Mud Pie” complete with costumes, props and a set.

DAR Award winner

Every year, the faculty of Barnwell High School nominates three senior students who best exemplify outstanding qualities of leadership, service and patriotism.
Taylor Hooper, Katie Plexico and Twylynn Stokes were nominated this year.
Their names were then presented to the senior students to vote on one of them.
This year the faculty and senior students have voted Twylynn Stokes to receive the 2010-2011 DAR Good Citizenship Award.

JDA Student of the Month

Congratulations to Jarrett Davis, the JDA Upper School Academic Student of the Month for October! This award is based on academic achievement and the student should display the following: classroom participation, completed homework assignments, good test grades, an eagerness for learning, growth in subject matter taught, cooperation with the teacher, serves as a good example to other students, and willing to help other students where appropriate.

BHHS adds Golf team

The 2010 school year has already been manifested as a year of great change. One of those changes being the addition of a high school golf team. Before the season begins, the team has already been endowed with great donations and contributions. Gene Kemper of Denmark, South Carolina’s Crestwood Golf Club has donated a variety of golf clubs.
