Blackville PTSO prepares for fun

The Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) of Blackville-Hilda High School is hoping a community fun day will bring educators, parents and children together.

The event - April 25 at the Blackville Hilda High School from 12 noon - 6:00 p.m. - will feature games and assorted refreshments.

The organization's aim is to raise funds for the senior trip for the class of 2010, said Annie Walters, the event coordinator and a PTSO member.

Funds raised will also go toward the junior and senior prom, said Walters.

"We're trying to make it so everyone can have good memories of their junior and senior years," said Walters.

The organization's target goal is $4,000, she said.

"We really need your donations and support to help us achieve our goal and to help the community enjoy a day full of fun," said Walters.

Some of that fun will include sack races, bingo and a relay race. A dunking booth for dowsing children and face painters decorating profiles will be present as well as an inflatable bounce room.

"There will also be a silent auction held in the media center throughout the day," said Walters.

Participants will be treated to cotton candy, popcorn, candy apples and other assorted treats.

"We hope everyone comes to this event and makes it a success," said Walters.
