Say Cheese: Photo ID card event set June 22

The Barnwell County Voter Registration and Elections office will conduct a Voter Education and Outreach event at Williston Town Hall Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
County residents can have their picture taken for a voter registration photo ID card. There is no charge for the card.
Residents can also have their picture taken for the card Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Barnwell County Voter Registration and Elections office at 34 Pechman St. in Barnwell.
State law now requires people to show a valid photo ID when they vote, although there is a stipulation in the law that allows people without proper identification to cast a provisional ballot.
Accepted forms of identification are a valid state driver's license, DMV ID card, voter registration card with photo, federal military ID and a U.S. passport.
Registered voters are not required to have the voter registration photo ID card.
