Same employees, new name in EMS

Medshore Ambulance Service took over for Williston Rescue Squad at midnight Monday.
Medshore hired all the WRS employees who wanted to continue working in the county, Greg Shore, the company's CEO, said.
He said the transition should go smoothly and residents in the county shouldn't notice any change in service except for the name on the side of the ambulance.
WRS had to close because of financial struggles.
The county's hospital, Southern Palmetto Hospital, contracted with Anderson based Medshore, which serves communities across the state and has 300 employees.
Medshore is operating out of the same building WRS used and will also use the same ambulance substations around the county.
Shore said paramedics were able to keep the same shift they had with WRS to make the change as easy as possible.
