Get a ‘Taste of Blackville’ this Saturday, April 15

This Saturday is the day to ride to Blackville and come hungry.

The 11th Annual “Taste of Blackville” will be held April 15 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. along Main Street, according to event committee member Dorothy Creech.

Food vendors will line the street and sell a serving of their wares.

The Easter Bunny is expected to attend the festival so attendees are encouraged to bring a camera and get their picture taken.

An Easter egg hunt will also be held at 10 a.m. Easter egg hunters should go by the Blackville Downtown Development Association tent before then for details. The Together Sisters had originally planned an egg hunt for that afternoon but have decided to join with the BDDA to host the morning egg hunt, according to Sylvia Quattlebaum.

“We will have inflatables, hay rides, face painting, and health checks, all for free,” said Creech.

The new Blackville Museum will be open from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. for visitors. There is no charge.

The BDDA will also be raffling off a grill and a Mother’s Day basket. Tickets for either of these raffles are $2 each or 3 for $5. They are available in advance at Enterprise Bank or the day of the Taste at the BDDA tent.

There are still some vendor spots available at $30 each. The deadline to register as a vendor is Thursday, April 13. Vendor forms and registration are also available at Enterprise Bank in Blackville.
