Murder suspect, girlfriend arrested in Tenn.
A murder suspect and his girlfriend were arrested in Tennessee nearly a month after the shooting death of George Lee Grimes.
Ricky Lamont Williams, 39, and his girlfriend, Teresa Kaytlin Luna, 24, both of Windsor, were arrested on Wednesday, August 16 in Knox County, Tennessee, according to Barnwell County Sheriff Ed Carroll.
Officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office’s major crimes, special investigations, and narcotics units took the couple “into custody without incident around 4 p.m. at a residence in the 3300 block of East Governor John Sevier Highway,” according to a press release from the KCSO.
Carroll said his office was notified by the State Law Enforcement Division after the arrests.
Williams is wanted for the July 23 murder of George Lee Grimes on Fairway Lane. Luna is going to be charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
Carroll said Tennessee authorities do not have any charges on the couple, so they started the extradition process back to Barnwell County, but that process was not completed as of press time.
“Both will be held in the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility as they await extradition to South Carolina,” according to the KCSO press release.
According to an incident report, the murder was in retaliation for Grimes giving Williams fake money in exchange for heroin the day before the shooting.
Two other people, James Anderson Langford and Summer Marie Padgett, are charged with accessory before the fact to a felony.
