Energy Solutions collecting hurricane relief items
Energy Solutions in Snelling is collecting Hurricane Irma relief items to be sent to victims in Florida.
A tractor trailer has been set up in the parking lot of the Osborne Road facility in Snelling.
“The public is invited to contribute,” said Curtis Charlton, Security Supervisor.
“We ask that you call us at (803) 541-5004 to let us know you are coming or stop by the front door and we will assist in unloading the items,” said Charlton. “We ask that you don’t load items into the van on your own but allow us to assist.”
Items requested include: diapers/wipes, adult diapers, formula, bottled water, hand sanitizer, trash bags, first aid supplies, toiletries, paper products, pet supplies, new bed pillows and blankets, and new socks. Also requested are clean-up kits such as a 5-gallon bucket filled with cleaning supplies and sealed with a lid.
“The van will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. but if you need to come by outside of those hours, just stop by 24/7 at our front security office,” said Charlton.
He also said anyone who has items to donate but can’t get to Energy Solutions may call and they will arrange for the items to be picked up.
Delivery will depend on how fast the tractor trailer can be filled, but the target date to have the trailer filled is Friday, Sept. 22.
“We’d like to fill it as soon as possible as the need is now,” said Charlton.
Hittman Transportation will then transport the trailer the following week to a hurricane devastated location that is being determined.
