JDA student adopts Houston class

McKinley Blake Pritchard, a junior at Jefferson Davis Academy, has adopted a kindergarten class from Houston, Texas through Teachers of Tomorrow.

Donation boxes are set up at Sport's Gas and Convenience in Barnwell. Items needed include: level books, easy read (sight word books), paint, paint brushes, play dough, colored pencils, blue and orange plastic pocket folders, glue sticks, 16-pack crayons, copy paper, ink pads, Clorox wipes, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, gallon zip lock bags, construction paper, 5" blunt kids scissors, clear pencil bags, backpacks, big pink erasers, whiteboard markers, and Duplo LEGOs.

She will collect items until Saturday, Sept. 23.

The class Blake adopted is a departmentalized kindergarten class with 63 students. The teacher teaches ESL, science and social studies.
