Teen shooting victim ‘uncooperative’ with police
Details are limited about a shooting that injured a Blackville teen.
A 14-year-old male was shot on Sunday, Nov. 12 around 7:02 p.m. in the area of 954 Oak Avenue in Blackville as he walked between his house and a neighbor’s residence.
“One shot was fired and he was struck in the elbow,” said Blackville Police Chief John Holston of the juvenile victim.
The victim was transported to Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Ga. where he was treated and released. However, Holston said, the teen has been “uncooperative” with police as they investigated the shooting.
Authorities believe the shooter was in a silver four-door sedan, possibly a Chrysler 300. The vehicle is believed to have had a paper tag.
Other than the vehicle description, not much is known about the shooter or any potential motive. Holston said this is primarily due to the victim not cooperating with officers.
Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Blackville Police Department at (803) 284-2333.
