Organizations give back to community

Brickyard Lodge #55 and Pilgrim Chapter #7 fed the community during their 39th Annual Christmas Banquet on Dec. 8 at the Gail Reyes Senior Center in Barnwell.

“For years this organization has used the Annual Christmas Banquet as a way of appreciation to all who attend. Because our Lodge and Chapter are both founded on service to God and mankind it is extremely rewarding when we have a successful program,” said Illustrious Brother Eric Kirkland from Brickyard Lodge #55.

The event, which was in honor of the birth of Jesus, included a great program combined with a message from Rev. Beverly Ashley and a delicious meal.

“What better way and what better occasion than to celebrate it in this manner by coming together in peace and harmony?” he said.

As Worshipful Master and Worthy Patron of Lodge and Chapter, Kirkland said he is extremely proud of the attendance each year and thanks the members for all their hard work and diligent effort in all that they do for their community. “There are some things that money can’t buy and each time our organization is able to do something in the community we live in that phrase comes to mind,” he said.
