Denmark man dies in Williston crash
An early morning accident has claimed the life of a Bamberg County man, according to Barnwell County Coroner Lloyd B. Ward and S.C. Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins.
“Eric Banks, 33, of Voorhees Road, Denmark, was pronounced about 5:10 a.m. from injuries received in a one-car motor vehicle collision,” said Ward in a press release.
Banks was in a 2005 Toyota 4-door and was traveling north on Williston Way around 4:25 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, stated Cpl. Collins. He apparently “lost control of the automobile” which ran off the side of the road, rolled numerous times and Banks was ejected, according to Collins and Ward.
Banks was not wearing a restraint and was alone in the car, they stated. “Toxicology is pending,” said Ward.
The case is under investigation by Barnwell County Coroner’s Office and SC Highway Patrol.
