Arrest made in 2012 attempted murder

A two-year-old attempted murder case has ended with an arrest.
James Person, 47, of 1105 Fountain Drive, Atlanta, Ga., was arrested on August 11 by the Barnwell Police Department and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to his arrest report.
The incident for which Person was arrested took place on January 29, 2012, at 3:43 a.m. at Jimbo's Convenience Store on 1000 Dunbarton Boulevard. Officers responded to a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers observed a woman helping a man to stand up. The woman told officers the man had been shot, according to police reports.
Neither of the victims could identify who had shot the man.
The complainant, however, gave officers a brief description of the vehicle and gave a partial license plate number. The complainant also identified the vehicle as a beige Honda with heavily tinted windows.
EMS arrived and transported the victim to Barnwell County Hospital and, was then flown to MCG in Augusta, Ga.
Person is being held at the Barnwell County Detention Center.
