School board elections within the three public school districts will occur April 13.

Filing for candidates opens Jan. 29. Interested citizens and incumbents running again have until 4 p.m., Feb. 12 to file in the elections. Candidates must live within the school district in which they are running.

In Williston School District 29, the seats for Doris Young and Tommy Boyleston are open for election.

In Blackville-Hilda School District 19, the seats for Willie Felder and Annie Patrick are open.

In the Barnwell 45 school district, the seats for Chad Perry and Teresa Spence are up for election.

Interested residents can obtain the necessary forms for candidate filings at their respective school district office. All candidates are required to file a statement of economic interest form before their name can appear on a ballot. The forms can be found at school district offices.
