Pastor seeks 300 men to stand in ‘God’s Army’
Last night I attended the brotherhood supper at Seven Pines Baptist Church in Barnwell.
What a great Blessing to be with over 200 men singing and praising God! The fellowship, singing and food were great! I can tell you the ladies at Seven Pines Baptist know how to lay out a table of pies, cakes, puddings, etc. I borrow a word from Oreo's - they doubled the stuff! After that, we heard a great message from Gods' word. It doesn't get any better than that. So, the next time Seven Pines Baptist says, "We're hosting the Brotherhood Supper", you don't want to miss it.
I want to share with you my thoughts while driving home from last night's meeting. I was thinking of the army that God gave Gideon to go against the Midianites. God said to Gideon, ‘you have too many men in your army because you have too many that are cowards. I just need 300 men that are not afraid to stand for Me'. I thought, 300 men, we were almost there at the Brotherhood Meeting. So, I thought, if we could have 300 men in Barnwell County who were not afraid to stand for God and protect His Holy Word, what a difference we could make! What an impact we might make on the whole world!
Then, I remembered what I heard and saw on T.V. the night before - the Conservative Governor of New Jersey, signing a bill that would ban parents from correcting their children that may be caught up in the world of homosexuality. His reason for signing such an outrageous bill was that some minors might try to commit suicide if he/she was encouraged to change his/her life style.
I wanted to say, "Governor, don't you know that the greatest cause of suicide in our land, for all ages, is drugs and alcohol? That those two things not only make them take their own lives, but the lives of others. Why don't we do away with alcoholic beverages and a greater crackdown on drug dealers?"
It has been so long since I have heard a politician say one word that a true Christian would like to hear. I mean, the word ‘Christian' must be a bad word in the vocabulary of politicians! The question is, Why? Here is the reason Christians have lost their voice - we have not stood for Gods' word, therefore we have become the minority and the majority has taken over.
We elected a liberal to lead the Southern Baptist Convention; the nation's largest Protestant denomination now finds itself with little influence in our world today. The politicians are literally saying we don't need you, because you have no voice, you are a small minority. Now, Southern Baptist, instead of having influence, is starting to feel religious victimization. Why, because we have failed to stand for God and His written word. The results is this - in 2016, we may not even have a choice. We may have forfeited our choice because we have been cowards in the Pulpit and on the streets to stand for God. Many have not been good soldiers of the Cross.
Do you realize 500 million dollars of our tax money goes for so called Planned Parenthood? This 500 million dollars of your tax money is spent to pay for the abortion of babies, in the name of Planned Parenthood. Where do they get this from?
Seems to me, abortion is a plan not to be a parent. Yes, I am fighting for the unborn, the ones that cannot fight for themselves, and I am calling for 300 men in Barnwell County, who are not cowards to stand in Gods' army. You see, in 2016, we may not have a real choice even if we have a conservative candidate, he may be liberal. We may have to, in 2016, write in John Doe for President.
Come on, 300 men - let me know who you are! There is still Hope for America!
My great concern for our children is this - there may be coming a day when Washington, D.C. will tell you just how to raise your children, There may come a day when Washington, D.C. will tell you ‘no more reading of God's word to your children and no more bringing your children to God's house, if they choose not to go.
We are living in perilous times! It is time that Christians have a voice in the White House! It's late....but not too late! May God Bless!
