Dwain Anthony Odom, 49, of Barnwell, beloved son of Lelia Odom and the late Deacon Maxson Odom, was born in Barnwell July 22, 1964. He made his heavenly transition on August 6, 2013 at Southern Palmetto Hospital, formerly the Barnwell County Hospital.
He graduated from Barnwell High School and he attended Denmark Technical College. He was an assistant manager for many years at McDonalds. He joined early in life at Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he served on the usher board. He later joined Free Will Christian Ministries in Williston, where he faithfully served in the worship services.
Funeral service was held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Free Will Christian Ministries in Williston with the Bishop Joseph Anderson Sr. and Rev. Eddie Williams Jr. officiating, burial followed in the Free Will Christian Ministries Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his father, Deacon Maxson Odom.
Survivors includes two stepdaughters, Carmen Walker of Columbia, and Melissa Coker of Barnwell; two brothers, Tony Williams of Barnwell, and Gus (Gwen) Odom of Savannah, Ga.; three sisters, Lily (Johnny) Farr, Catherine Odom, and Mary Odom, all of Savannah, Ga.; one stepsister, Ruth (Melvin) Wilson; godsister, Tina Brooks; stepbrother, Larry (Lynn) Sanders of Savannah, Ga.; eight aunts, Grace Keech, Peggy Kirkland, Patricia Gadson, Estelle Jenkins, Melba Jones, Irene Odom, and Bernice Odom; seven uncles, Roy (Sheila) Odom, Thurmond Odom, Mike Jenkins, Samuel (Diane) Jenkins, Joe Lewis Jenkins, William Jenkins, Luther (Louise) Gadson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
Lebby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
