Funeral services for Marvin Marcell Kinard, 61, of Barnwell, were held 4 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Charles Morris, June Still and Mark Watford officiating. Burial followed in The Williston Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Matthew Bodiford, Michael Chavis, Rick Germaux, Robert Kinard, Danny Ostrowski, and Danny Wall.
Marvin passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013.
Born in Orangeburg, he was the son of the late Archie Marcell Kinard and Ruby Edna Laird Kinard. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Marvin was a very giving man, he was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt, and was a member of Lower Three Runs Hunting Club. He worked for 15 years at Material Supply and was a retired welder.
Marvin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara Gale Jeffcoat Kinard; daughter, Theresa Kinard (Allen Watford) of Orangeburg; son, Johnny Marcell "Bubba" (Erica) Kinard of Williston; sister, Delores (Raymond) Black of Long Branch; brothers, Paul (Sheryl) Kinard of Snelling, Leslie (Stephany) Kinard of Barnwell; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Kinard of Barnwell; grandchildren, Damion Sanders, Cimberly Sanders, Alex Kinard, Tyler Kinard; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert O'Neal Kinard, Archie Jasper "Jap" Kinard and James Kinard.
Folk Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
