Gertrude Zorn Grubbs, 80, of Barnwell passed away on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, in Augusta, Ga.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Sept. 1, at Seven Pines Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Mew officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held Saturday evening at Mole Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.
Gertrude was born Dec. 6, 1932, in Barnwell. She was the daughter of the late Bennie Zorn and the late Kathleen Zorn Cling. She was a member of Seven Pines Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin Grubbs Sr., daughter, Kathy Abbott and sisters, Amelia Moody and Joan Reece.
Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte (Ray) Swetman of North Augusta and Judy (Danny) Mishoe of Barnwell; son, Franklin "Bubba" (Shelia) Grubbs of Barnwell; son-in-law, Ronnie Abbott of Barnwell; brother, W.C. Cling of Cope; 13 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, and 6 stepchildren.
