Scouts Christopher Cox, Connor Burnette, Randy Palm (a scout dad), Jamie Thompson, and Nicholas Palm raft down the Chattooga River with their guide.
As part of a weekend campout, Boy Scout Troop 392 went whitewater rafting.
Rafting is nothing new for the troop, though this was the first time down the Chattooga. They normally raft the Nantahalla River, which Scoutmaster Bill Thompson said is "rather calm compared to the Chattooga."
While all the scouts managed to stay in their raft, "some of us did not," said Thompson of the adults.
The troop hopes to raft section four of the river - a step up from what they did this year.
He welcomes new members to join their adventures. Boy Scouts is for ages 11 to 18, while those ages 6 to 11 can join the Cub Scouts.
