Funeral Services for Norman Lee Owens Jr., 61, of Blackville, were held at 3 p.m., Sept. 17, in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel in Williston, with burial at Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sept. 16, at the funeral home.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association, 1817 Gadsden St. Columbia, S.C. 29210-1790.
Mr. Owens passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013.
Born in Barnwell County he was the son of the late Norman Lee Owens Sr. and Beatrice Holbrooks Owens. He was married to the late Yvonne Still Owens. Norman graduated from Williston-Elko High School and retired from the Savannah River Site where he worked in construction. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving girlfriend, Peggy Brabham of the home; son, James Adrian Owens of the home; grandson, James Aiken Owens; sisters, Mary Lesley, Gail Collins, Glenda Finley all of Easley, and Bobbie Foxx of Greenville; aunt, Pearle Benedict of Williston; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Holbrooks.
Folk Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
