Yes, it is PINK! As October arrives, visions of pink begin to float in our heads. This is the time we set aside to honor those who are fighting breast cancer, remember those who have lost their battle and pledge to help find a cure.
Our entire newspaper is PINK and it is our vision this will help raise awareness about early detection and treatment and bring people together to end this disease.
Inside our newspaper, you will find stories of hope and courage as our friends and neighbors are in the fight of their lives. You will also find helpful information on breast self exams and what breast cancer really is. It is our vision this information will help our readers make good health decisions or let them know they are not alone in this fight.
You will also find inspirational stories on how high school students are joining the fight by raising money to help find a cure.
It is our vision that through these pages you will also find a reason to get involved in the fight, even if your family has been lucky enough to evade this killer.
Working together, we can win this fight!
What a great day it will be when no more women (or men) have to worry about their odds of getting breast cancer!
It is our vision that this PINK edition will in some small way help end this deadly disease.
We have already lost too many to this disease.
As you turn through the pages of this edition, please find our in honor of and in memory of page (6A) and help us recognize those who are fighting and have fought this disease.
And finally, it is our vision this edition inspires you to get involved.
