Funeral services for Calvin Olin "C. O." Wilson Jr., 83, of Williston, were held at 11:30 a.m., Oct. 1, at the Elko Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Baker and Rev. Bruce Fox officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites accorded followed in the Barnwell Memorial Cemetery by the airport. The family received friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Members of the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group served as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Elko Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 277, Elko, S.C. 29826.
Mr. C. O. passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013.
Born in Millwood, Ga., he was the son of the late Calvin Olin Wilson Sr. and Leona Bennett Wilson. He retired as a supervisor in the power department after working 43 years for E. I. DuPont and SRS. He was a member of Elko Baptist Church, the Ackerman Chapter #198 Order of the Eastern Star and the Hope Masonic Lodge #126 where he was a past master. He was a member of the El BAB (Omar) Shrine Club, a York Rite Shriner and was a member of the Over the Hill Gang Band.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Thompson Wilson; sons, Calvin O. (Diane) Wilson III, Wayne D. (Melinda) Wilson, all of Williston; grandchildren, Heather (Neal) Chambers, Kelly (Joshua) Wilcox, Jessica Wilson and fiancé Brad All, Dalton Wilson and fiancé Leah Humphrey; great-grandchildren, Lindsay Wilcox, Emma Chambers and Robbie Wilcox; brothers, Dolphus M. Wilson, Cleon Wilson; sisters, Lorna Medders, Faye Stone; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Marion A. Wilson, B. Leamond Wilson; and a sister, Ruby Ruth Wilson.
Folk Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
