The Williston-Elko High girls' tennis team cruised past Wade Hampton High Oct. 2 in Williston.
The Lady Blue Devils used consistency play throughout the lineup for a 6-1 win.
Williston-Elko High coach Bernard Walters said the team is starting to gel.
"We've been playing pretty well of late," Walters said.
"In today's match, the girls played with a lot of consistency and confidence. They did a good job of taking charge early in all the matches."
Sara Gainey of W-E got the show start with an impressive 6-1, 6-0 win over Cassie Kimmerlin of Wade Hampton.
At No. 2 singles, Savannah Greene of W-E came up short in a tiebreaker to Faith Rae of Wade Hampton by scores of 2-6, 7-5 and 3-10.
In No. 3 singles, Lauren Pruitt aces Stephanie Crosby in straight sets with scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
Myeshia Jeter of W-E turned in a strong performance with seven aces in a 6-2, 6-2 win over Megan Williams of WHHS.
In No. 5 singles, Lady Blue Devil Katlin Hutson easily disposed of Denisia Caper of the Lady Red Devils with scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
In other action, the Lady Blue Devils defeated Whale Branch 7-0 Sept. 30 in Williston.
In singles play, Sara Gainey, Savannah Greene, Lauren Pruitt, Myeshia Jeter and Kaitlin Hutson also scored straight set victories.
In No.1 doubles action, the Lady Blue Devils tandem of Myeshia Jeter and Kaitlin Hutson scored a 8-2 win over Akaila Wilson and Cierra Cowton.
In No. 2 doubles, Hailey Millard and Jasmine Jeter scored a 8-2 win over Kayle Greene and Bre'Ann Barrett.
