Agnes "Aggie" Yorks Coyeos, 102, of New Ellenton, passed away Saturday, Oct 19, 2013.
Agnes was born in Saginaw, Mich. in 1911. Her parents, Solomon and Maggie Yorks, were immigrants from Lithuania. Agnes married Angelo Coyeos, a WWI veteran, in Detroit in 1928 and raised her family there. She was a homemaker and worked as a department store clerk.
Agnes moved to New Ellenton in 1968 to join her three daughters and their families who also lived in New Ellenton.
In addition to her parents and husband, Agnes was preceded in death by her two brothers, Alexander York and Simon Peter Yorks; and one daughter, Catherine Coyeos Swanson.
She is survived by a sister, Genevieve Edwards of Angola, Ind.; two daughters, Pauline Coyeos Davis and Loretta Coyeos Barnett of New Ellenton; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
