A woman was injured after colliding with a Barnwell County Sheriff's deputy's patrol car.
The accident happened around 2 p.m. Dec. 16 as a deputy was "attempting to cross over Hwy. 39" in his patrol car, said Lance Cpl. Judd Jones with the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Chief Deputy David Deering with the BCSO identified Joe Tubbs as the reserve deputy involved in the accident.
After going through the stop sign, the deputy's 2008 Crown Victoria was struck on its right rear side by a 2006 Ford Fusion that was heading north on Hwy. 39. That vehicle was driven by Jennifer Lott, said Jones.
Lott was transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta, Ga., with what Jones called "minor injuries." Her two passengers were not transported.
Tubbs was not injured, said Jones.
No charges have been filed as of press time, though Jones said the wreck remains under investigation by the SCHP.
