Wayne Sanders

Funeral Services for Wayne Thomas Sanders, 61, of Olar, were held at 3 p.m., Jan. 20, at Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Reverends Henry Chavis and Jimmy Rice officiated. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Jan 19., at Folk Funeral Home in Williston.
The Lord called Wayne home on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014.
Born in Barnwell County he was the son of the late Simon I Sanders and Martha Eloise Still Sanders. Wayne was a truck driver and a member of Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church. Wayne enjoyed music, he was a musician at the church, he loved to share his music and really enjoyed ministering and singing at various nursing homes, he also was an accomplished musician having recorded a number of tapes.
Survivors include Carrie Jeanette Joyner Sanders; sisters, Mary Ruth Love, Shirley Jean and Virgil Still all of Olar, Bonetta Bolen of Blackville; brothers, Simon "Jack" Sanders Jr. of Olar, Perry Hugh Sanders of Blackville, Ray Allen Sanders of Olar; a dear friend, Oscar Verdugo of Olar; and a number of nieces and nephews, who Wayne loved very much.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Marie Sanders; son, Jeffery Wayne Sanders; brothers, Leonard O'Neal Sanders and Norman Everette Sanders.
Folk Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
