Funeral services for Willie Julius "Bill" Bonnette, 86, of Williston, were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors accorded. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Augusta, Ga. USBC Hall of Fame.
Born in Salley, he was the son of the late Roy Preston Bonnett and Eula Mary Gray Bonnett and was married to LaVerne Keenan Bonnette. Mr. Bonnette was retired from Texaco Inc., the Georgia Tax Commission and the U.S. Army having served during WWII, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was an avid bowler having competed in over 25 national and international tournaments. He was past president and life member of the Augusta/ United States Bowling Congress and was a Hall of Fame member. He was also a life member of the U.S. Bowling Congress. He was a member of Edisto Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, LaVerne Keenan Bonnette of the home; daughters, Sandra B. Peterson, Debbie B. Fitzgerald; stepdaughters, Wanda Gray, Lynda Barnes, Brenda Wilkins; son, Frederick Lamback III; sisters, Dorothy B. Barton, Jessie B. Beard, Alice Faye B. Smith; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Folk Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
