Roy Holder

Mr. Roy Gilford Holder, 71, of Barnwell, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral services were private.
Mr. Holder was the son of the late Calvin Holder and Lela E Derryberry Holder. He was born in Knoxville, Tenn., and had lived in Venice, Fla., before moving to Barnwell in 1979 when he worked for Rite-Way for five years, helping build storage tanks at the SRS. He then worked for Chem Nuclear for twelve years and then finished his career with EFCO until he retired almost ten years ago. He loved his family, the outdoors and meeting his friends and co-workers each day at 5 a.m. at McDonalds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Virginia Lee Holder and Bernie Ray Holder. 
He is survived by his wife, Barbara E. Leisey Holder of Barnwell; a son, Mike Holder of Summerville; a daughter, Lisa Elizabeth Holder of Barnwell; six brothers and sisters.
