James Yelton

Funeral services for James Sidney "Sid" Yelton, 58, of Williston, were held at 3 p.m., Feb. 14, in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel in Williston, with the Rev. Jamie Wootten officiating. Burial followed in the Williston Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given in Sid's memory to Winfield Heights Baptist Church, Eddie Yelton Building Fund 315 Chester St., Williston, S.C. 29853.
Sid passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014.
Born in Barnwell, he was the son of Lee Everett Yelton and Eddith Penland "Eddie" Yelton. He was a member of Winfield Heights Baptist Church, was a welder who worked at SRP and for many other construction sites. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union No. 150, Augusta, Ga., and was a former member of the Williston Country Club. Sid loved life and had many wonderful friends who will miss him dearly.
Survivors include his parents, Lee and Eddie Yelton; brothers, Michael Lee "Mickey" (Buff) Yelton and David Ray "Dave" Yelton all of Williston; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Duane "Rod" Yelton.
Folk Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
