Wilma McCain

Mrs. Wilma Rebecca McMillan McCain, 93, of Denmark, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014. She died at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. She was born on Sept. 19, 1920, and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bunyan McMillan and wife of the late William Riley McCain.
Miss Wilma grew up in the small town of Ulmer where she enjoyed her childhood to the fullest. She often reminisced about the happy times spent with her parents, her many relatives, and friends who enriched her life during her early years in Ulmer. Miss Wilma was proud that she, like her parents, worked for the U.S. Post Office in Ulmer. She moved to Denmark after her marriage to Billy McCain and became a gracious addition to the community of Denmark. She spent much of her life in service as a caretaker to her mother, her husband, and her treasured daughter. Miss Wilma is remembered for her thoughtful deeds for others, her endearing personality, and her warm smile. She was an adoring mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and her special joy was preparing Sunday dinner for her beloved family. She was an active member of Bethel Park United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, John McMillan (Louise) McCain of Denmark; grandchildren, John (Jill) McCain and Will McCain all of Columbia; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McCain was preceded in death by her daughter, Leta McCain; her sister, Margaret M Davis, and her brother, John Bunyan McMillan Jr.
