Mr. Wilber M. Kennedy, 79, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014.
A graveside service was held at 1 p.m., March 8, at Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery in Olar with the Rev. Farrel Ray officiating.
He was living in Summerville and was born in Barnwell County. He was married to the late Florence Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, also from Barnwell, Ulyses Kennedy and Burnice Ray.
Survivors include four daughters, Marshal Wall, Louise Webb, Sherry Wine and Tammy Martin all of Summerville; ten grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was retired from R & M Industries. He also sold produce and was called by many "The Watermelon Man", and also preached the gospel for Jesus Christ. He was a loving father to his family and a loving friend to many. He was sweet and gentle and a true man of God. He was a great protector of his family and friends. He never knew a stranger because he loved everyone. He is going to missed by so many. He touched so many lives along the way. He had a heart that was truly from God and made of gold.
Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangement.
