Funeral services for Charles Spurgeon Grubbs, 96, of Blackville, were held at 3 p.m., March 31, at Reach Out Ministries with the Reverend Don McCormick officiating, burial followed in The Lighthouse Full Gospel Mission Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at Reach Out Ministries.
Mr. Grubbs passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014.
Born in Barnwell County, he was the son of the late Paul and Bertha Grubbs and was married to the late Lerline Hutto Grubbs. He was a farmer and a member of Lighthouse Full Gospel Mission and attended True Vine Ministries.
Survivors include daughters, Susan (Marvin) Williams of Williston, Pearline Grubbs of Barnwell, Margurita (Jimmy) Grubbs of Blackville; sons, Charles Edward (Donna Kay) Grubbs of Windsor, Donnie (Betty) Grubbs of Blackville; brother, Paul Grubbs of Blackville; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Grubbs; two sisters and a brother.
Folk Funeral Home Inc. and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
