BCSO looking to take back old, unwanted pills Saturday
Once again, it's time to clean out your medicine cabinet and get rid of any unwanted pills.
The Barnwell County Sheriff's Office is hosting a drug take back event Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They do this twice a year as part of a nationwide initiative.
Residents are welcome to drop off of any unwanted or expired pills, which will then be properly disposed of. Syringes and liquid medicines are not accepted.
Investigator Brenda O'Berry with the BCSO said the event is aimed at getting unwanted, unused and expired drugs off the streets. It also keeps them from being thrown away and hurting the environment.
No questions are asked when residents turn in the pills.
The pills will be properly disposed of so they will not pose a health or environmental problem.
