A mother and son were arrested after a robbery that took place on April 23 at 9:40 p.m. at Reid's parking lot. .
Justin Billy Williams, 20, of 3553 Moonlight Rd, Williston, was arrested by the Barnwell Police Department (BPD) and charged with strong armed robbery.
Williams' mother, Karen Wheeler Williams, 49, also of 3553 Moonlight Rd., Williston, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact.
The arresting officer, Casey Bell, said the victim, Jessica Zissett, met with Williams in the parking lot of Reid's to talk about prices to rent a bouncy house. After Zissett refused to purchase the bouncy house, Williams snatched the money and started running towards the SRP Bank where he tripped and fell.
Zissett pursued Williams towards the parking lot of China Express where she then called 911.
"I was at Reid's and saw Justin walking across the parking lot," said witness, Allison Palmer. "Jessica went to confront him about stealing her money and he started running away."
Another witness, Chris Fereneyhough Jr., told police that Zissett had contacted him asking if he could arrange for Williams to meet so that she could confront him about her stolen money.
Williams' mother, Karen, was charged for acting as her son's driver.
