The Barnwell County Leathernecks Detachment 1227 is having a Memorial Day program on May 26 at 10 a.m. at Veterans Park in Barnwell.
The organization met May 19 to finish planning the final preparations for the service on Monday.
"We really want to remind people what Memorial Day is all about," said Floyd Bodiford, Commandant of Detachment 1227.
As part of the service, there will be a reading of deceased veterans from Barnwell County from January 2013 to present along with the ringing of the bell.
The program will also have a reading of a piece called "Remembrance."
The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) will also participate in the program.
The program is expected to last about an hour, according to the group.
