Pope, Laxton Wedding

Elizabeth Pope and Chad Laxton were united in marriage on May 17, 2014. The wedding was held at Fairview Presbyterian Church in Fountain Inn, Dr. Thomas Terry of Blackville officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mike and Ginger Pope of Monroe N.C., formerly of Blackville. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Amelia Gardner and the late Bruce Gardner of Lancaster, and the late Marvin and Ethel Pope of Monroe, N.C. She is a 2003 graduate of Seneca High School, and a 2010 graduate of Lander University with a B.A. degree in English. She is employed by Clemson University with the Clemson LIFE program.
The groom is the son of Raymond and Frances Laxton of Fountain Inn. He is the grandson of Mrs. Rosalee Neves and the late Frank Neves of Fountain Inn, and the late Roy and Opal Laxton of Carlisle. He is a 1997 graduate of Hillcrest High School, Simpsonville, and a 2003 graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. degree in Marketing. He is employed by EZ-Clean in Pendleton.
The best man was Daniel Kulpa of Waynesville, NC. Groomsmen were Jason Spaar of Spartanburg, Bryan Bell of Durham, N.C., Brooks Sumner of Westminster, Corey Hardee of Waynesville, N.C., and Mathew Booker of New York City, N.Y.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by James Gardner, her maternal uncle.
Maid of Honor was Jenna Foster of Wadmalaw Island. Matron of Honor was Kelly Kulpa of Waynesville, N.C. Bridesmaids were Sarah Pope of Anderson, sister of the bride, Mary Alice Bell of Durham, N.C., Kali Schetzsle of Seneca, and Savannah Laxton of Commercial Point, Ohio, niece of the groom. Flower girls were Morgan Laxton of Commercial Point, Ohio, niece of the groom, Sarah Laxton of Commercial Point, Ohio, niece of the groom, Lauren Laxton of Simpsonville, niece of the groom, and Emily Laxton of Simpsonville, niece of the groom. Ring Bearer was Jude Spaar of Spartanburg.
Music was provided by Greg Chesney of Fountain Inn.
The bride wore a gown with a sweetheart neckline and empire waist. Her vintage pearls were a gift from the late Mrs. Elizabeth Lott of Blackville. The bride's flowers were a bouquet of orange tiger lilies, orange roses, and assorted white flowers.
Following the wedding a reception was held at Brooks' Barn in Fountain Inn.
Following a wedding trip of a cruise to the Bahama Islands, the couple will reside in Clemson.
